In a dream at the beginning of the 1890s, the 'Pabydd' in this tale had a vision of the Wales of 2012. It is a Wales that has achievedindependence and has lost her Protestant religion. Emrys ap Iwan changes perspective as a device which encouraged Welsh people of his time to see themselves in a new light, and to ask questions about themselves.
